February - and the snow lay on the ground.Llew enjoyed his first Classic Bike Show on the GWOCGB stand.

March - was a busy month. Wingers were getting their bikes ready for the season.
Other surrounding regions joined our planned Sunday run to Rivington Barn and there was a good turn out from North Wales for the Annual Wirral Easter Egg Run where Dennis raised a large sum for charity on his own.
Meanwhile - Others rode their bikes when the weather was fine but had to wash off the salt.
April kicked off the season, Pennine Wings held an Away Weekend in a hotel in Llandudno.Wingers from all over the country gathered for this relaxing weekend. North Wales Wingers Allen and Christine went up for a drink,chat,hello and welcome on the Friday evening and discussed the planned route for the Saturday Ride-Out which other North Wales Wingers joined in.
After the monthly meeting in April, North Wales Wingers met up with Cheshire and Merseyside Wingers to ride out together to a Classic Bike Display in Whitchurch. Wingers were able to drool over the bikes. Photos in the Gallery. Later in April, Centre Wings and North Wales Wings met up on the Ludlow run which both regions had planned for today. Staffordshire and Shropshire regions joined in and there was an impressive turnout of Wings - as many as on a Wing Ding run-out. A good time was had by all and much ice cream was consumed! The common view was that "we must do this again".And so say all of us! (No photos as Allen forgot the camera and Christine forgot to remind him.)
At the end of April, Centre Wings rode to the Ponderosa cafe on the Horseshoe Pass above Llangollen.
Staffordshire and other regions braved the cold to savour the delights of North Wales.
Fourteen Wings plus others caused a stir in the car park.
Lancs and Lakes Region had a camping weekend in Bala over Easter and invited North Wales Wings to camp as well. Saturday dawned bright with a spaarkling sun and a contingent of Wingers from North Wales and C&Merseyside rolled up to join in the run which Sir Galahad had planned.
There was a 'brew' waiting and after a chat we all set off for the scenic tour on the mountain roads.We all piled into the Bedgellert Car Park and after sampling one or more ..?? flavours of specialty ice-cream the run carried on to Betwys-y-Coed before turning south on another loop and back to camp. Another glorious day. Steve pitched his tent on the Saturday so that he could join in the barbie but the white frosty stuff covered the ground during the night and the hardy campers woke up shivering with cold.

May - the Wing Ding season is in full swing with North Wales Wingers going to Cheshire and Merseyside,Border,Keltic and more planned.
The after-meeting ride out was to the Anderton Boat Lift in Northwich. What a feat of engineering! A mystery tour home complete the day for some!
Wingers made a dream come true for Bill Haycock of Llay,Wrexham when they gave him a surprise 65th Birthday ride on a Honda Gold Wing and raised money for the Wales Air Ambulance as the family gave a sizeable donation as thanks.See Gallery.
June did not know whether to rain or shine.
Allen and Christine had a ride to Llyn Brenig one Sunday and came upon a 'Lone Winger' in the shape of Llew, by the roadside enjoying the view over the lake. He was riding his 1800 Gold Wing this time.

Paul and Jan went off to Blackpool and Southport (but not on the Wing). They gave their new Pan European an airing.
June also brought new members to North Wales Wings.

John and Marilyn from Gwynedd are shown with Kidogo whom they brought to the meeting.
June ended with a trip to Lancs & Lakes Wing Ding at Kirkby Lonsdale where Wingers were queuing up to inscribe from Thursday Lunchtime. The ground was amid rolling hills and a short walk from the town centre . See Gallery
July was busy with Wing Dings up and down the country as the season was in full swing. Some North Wales Wingers enjoyed a BBQ in friends Tom and June's garden.(Cheshire& Merseyside Wingers). This was before the rain came down-again!

Saturday August 1st and the sun shone in Cricieth for our Fund raising Static Display for the Wales Air Ambulance.
WAA Life Saving Event Organiser Owen hung his banner from the tree. When Paul arrived he hoisted the flag for North Wales Wings. A glorious day in the sunshine.
The day ended with heavy buckets for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Wingers went off in usual style to the Trent Wing Ding. Sheila and Jan got aquainted with some of Robin Hood's men in Sherwood Forest!
While Paul had a go at reading the weather for the BBC!
A trip into Snowdonia reminded Allen and Christine of the beauties of North Wales even when the clouds close in!
September-and the season is winding down. I received information about a charity 'Ride for Rotary' which I passed on to North Wales Wingers. This was in aid of four local charities and a few joined in.(See Gallery/2009) Before this,some North Wales Wingers went to the Light Parade in Blackpool where is was cold and wet but everyone 'enjoyed themselves' said Sheila and Alun.
John and Marilyn also went to the Scarborough Light Parade the week afterwards and had a good time where
they said 'both the weatherand organisation were wonderful.
September also brought four more new Wingers from Anglesey who were keen to join the family of GWOCGB. Welcome to Phil & Lynne and Dave & Edwina.

October and with the leaves falling off the trees and the Wing Ding season officially, other events took over to keep North Wales Wingers happily doing what
they do best - riding and displaying their Wings. Llew went to the Stafford Classic Bike Show, where GWOCGB Classic Section have a stand, but did not display his bike this time. He is looking forward to a lot of Winging chat with fellow Classic new-Winger Dave.
In October,we had a call from Paul in Cheshire & Merseyside region about a static display he had been asked by Asda Queensferry to or
ganise in aid of Breast Cancer on October 25th. He had already rounded up friends Paul and Alun in North Wales Wings ,close to him and I got busy with phone calls and e-mails to others in our region.North Wales Wingers from as far afield as Dolgellau and Abergele came along to help raise money totalling £1086.

We went along and met up with old friends, including one from over the Pennines whom we had not seen since 2003,at a service station 'somewhere in France!' on our way back from Switzerland.

November: Allen and I rounded off the year with the GWOCGB AGM Halloween Ball in Peterborough where members rocked the night away.More photos in the Gallery/2009..
At the Regional AGM, the week afterwards,Christine Prescott was returned unopposed s Regional Representative for another year. Christine currently edits the website and appreciates any news,views and photographs from members.
From 2010 there will be a change of venue for the monthly meetings due to a geographical change in membership. There was overwhelming support for the more central position of Betws-y-Coed and thanks go to the Best Western Waterloo Hotel & Lodgefor accommodating us.
Meetings times stay unchanged and we welcome and look forward to meeting members old and new as well as visitors who may have a Goldwing or are thing of buying one. If you do not want to be a full member at once, Associate Membership is available while you get the feel of the club and all it has to offer.
