Charity Fundraising with North Wales Wings

Throughout the year we raise money for charity. Our own charity is the Wales Air Ambulance which covers the whole of Wales.

We hold static displays in and around North Wales which are either organised by our members  or we are requested to by organisers of other events.   We also make guest appearances when requested for other charities.

The certificates above are for direct fund-raising activities by North Wales Wings.

In August, North Wales Wings also made a donation to the GWOCGB national charity - Royal British Legion - as well as a donatoon  for the Treffen Charity Raffle in Wadebridge over August Bank Holiday weekend. Wingers also put on a display for the RNLI Rhyl Lifeboat Open Day on Bank Holiday Sunday. Pictures in the Charity photos section and Gallery.

At our WingDing in July, the focus was on raising money for our nominated regional charity, the Wales Air Ambulance. 2009 News.

In 2009 we collected on behalf  of the Wales Air Ambulance Life Saving Event in Criccieth and other charities

Wales Air Ambulance Static Display on Saturday August 1st was a huge success.  However, supporting charity was not  confined to  our nominated one of the Wales Air Ambulance. North Wales Wingers supported other charities in the area  such as the Wirral Easter Egg Run in aid of Clatterbridge Hospital where North Wales Winger Dennis raiseda huge total  through sponsorship;Alun and Sheila supported the Rhyl Lifeboat Display in August; North Wales Wingers supported the   Ride for Rotary in September (which benefitted four local charities) after we had received details of the event from the organisers. There was Asda Queensferry's Tickled Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Charities in October, organised by Cheshire & Merseyside region which raised £1086

On Saturday August 1st 2009. North Wales Wings co-ordinated a static display of Gold Wings in Criccieth and invited Wingers from surrounding areas and regions to take part.

This was the second day of the  Wales Air Ambulance Life Saving Event in Criccieth. The day raised well over £300 which contributed greatly to the whole two-day event organised by Owen Pritchard (WAA) in Criccieth.

The event in 2007 was very successful.  Gold Wings always attarct attention and we rattled the buckets, to raise a goodly sum for this essential cause. Criccieth is a lovely town on the North West coast of Wales (beyond Porthmadog) and Wingers enjoyed exceptional scenic roads on the way.The weather was glorious and, as usual, we were ready for the obligatory ice cream during the day.
